HOW TO WORK WITH DEBBIE BAXTER AND THE NEST PROJECT

Rooted in community, creativity, and care, we offer participants an opportunity to heal from the inside-out through experiential arts. Together, we build large and small nests as metaphors for home, safety, and belonging.

LIVE COHORT - PORTLAND, OR

SEPTEMBER- DECEMBER, 2026

Participants are invited to take part in each stage of the process, from gathering materials and helping construct the nest to being photographed within it. Their experiences are documented through photography, film, writing, interviews, and audio recordings. These expressions become part of an evolving body of work that may culminate in either public or private exhibitions, forming a growing collection of artwork.

INFORMATION COMING SOON. CONTACT DEBBIE TO GET ON THE WAITLIST.

ONLINE COHORT

APRIL - JUNE, 2025

This three-month workshop offers a structured yet intimate pathway to find your own form of medicine through creativity and community. Over the course of our time together, you’ll explore writing prompts, reflective practices, and symbolic or creative acts that help move healing from the mind into the body. You’ll create your own version of a “nest,” learn to honor your inner narrative, and alchemize shame or pain into purpose.

“Debbie Baxter has created a much needed offering;  The Nest Project

Debbie is completely accepting of wherever the participant is in their journey. She's accepting and honoring of exactly where you are while at the same time being skilled at gently encouraging someone to go deeper.  She does this in a completely non-judgemental way.
Debbie has tremendous respect for each person's process.

My participation in The Nest Project left me feeling more healed and like a layer of the traumas had been lifted off.

What a gift!” - Linda
